작가소개
1981년 경기도 구리출생으로, 유년시절 자연을 곁에 두고 자라면서 주변에서 흔히 볼수 있는 다양한 것들을 이용하여
놀이 도구를 만들고 그림 그리는 것에 흥미를 느끼며 성장하였습니다.
2007년 홍익대학교 금속조형디자인과를 졸업한 후 다양한 재료들이 가진 특성을 탐구하고 그 과정에서 얻어진 표현방법을
끊임없이 반복하며 얻어진 결과를 이용하여 사물을 만들어냅니다.
시간성을 담고 있는 사물과 그 사물이 위치하게되는 공간의 관계,
그리고 더 나아가 나 자신과 사물간의 관계를 자문해보는 작업을 해오고 있습니다.
현재 뉴욕에 위치한 살롱94디자인 갤러리와 서울 리안갤러리 소속으로 활동중에있으며 개인전으로는
2008년 캐나다 몬트리올 커미세어 갤러리,
2010년 서울 서미갤러리, 벨기에 빅터 헌트 갤러리,
2011년 독일 베를린 카레나 슈에슬러 갤러리,
2012년 일본 도쿄 클리어 갤러리,

몬트리올 장식미술관, 샌프란시스코 현대미술관, 홍콩 M+ 미술관, 시드니 MAAS 미술관,
리움 및 대구미술관등에 작품 소장 되어있으며, 펜디, 디올, 스와로브스키, 현대캐피탈, 아모레퍼시픽, 코오롱 등과 같은
다양한 브랜드들과의 협업을 해왔습니다.수상 내역으로는 2011년 문화체육관광부가 선정 한 젊은 예술가상,
2013년 예올이 선정 한 올해의 젊은공예인상 등이 있습니다.
2017년 브라질 MADE 페어 에서 올해의 디자이너로 선되었으며
그 외 여러 국제적인 디자인 관련 상에 최종 후보로 올랐습니다.
Lee Kwang-ho was born in 1981 in Guri, Gyeonggi-do.
He grew up close to nature, taking interest in making play tools and drawing pictures using various objects commonly found around him.
After graduating from Hongik University in 2007, he began exploring the characteristics of various materials and creating objects
with the results he obtained by constantly repeating the expression methods he discovered in the process.
Since, he has been producing works by questioning himself about the relationship between objects that convey temporality
and the space in which they are located, and furthermore, the relationship between himself and the objects.
He currently works as part of the Salon 94 Design Gallery in New York and the Leeahn Gallery in Seoul, and held solo exhibitions in the
Commissaires Gallery in Montreal, Canada in 2008,
the Seomi Gallery in Seoul and the Victor Hunt Gallery in Belgium in 2010,
the Karena Schuessler Gallery in Berlin in 2011,
the Clear Gallery in Tokyo in 2012,
the Design Museum in Osaka in 2013,
the ONEANDJ Gallery in Seoul in 2014,
the Victor Hunt Gallery in Belgium in 2016, and the Leeahn Gallery in Seoul in 2020.
His works are in the collection of the Montreal Museum of Decorative Arts, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art,
Hong Kong's M+ Museum, Sydney's MAAS Museum, and Korea's Leeum Museum of Art and Daegu Art Museum.
He participated in collaborative projects with various brands, including Fendi, Dior, Swarovski, Hyundai Capital, AmorePacific,
and Kolon. He received the Young Artist Award from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in 2011 and the Young Craftsman
of the Year Award from Yeol in 2013, was named Designer of the Year at the MADE Fair in Brazil in 2017,
and was nominated for several other international design awards.
작품설명
2009년 부터 시작된 작업으로 PVC, 나일론 등의 소재로 된 선들을 이용하여 반복된 매듭을 짓는 방식으로 만들어진 작업입니다.
해당 미니어처는 2010년 PVC 소재로 제작했던 작업을 축소 하였으며 집착 연작을 대표하는 형태로 많이 알려져 있습니다.
The work, which began in 2009, was produced by making repeated knots using lines of materials like PVC and nylon.
The miniature is a smaller version of a 2010 artwork made from PVC materials and widely known as a representative shape of the
Obsession Series.
