“한국적 오브제와 전통기법으로 만드는 백자”
전상근 작가는 한국을 대표 하는 백자를 이용하여 한국적 오브제와 기법을 이용하여 작품을 만드는 작가입니다.
작가의 백자 작품은 조선시대 백자의 형태와 재료를 바탕으로 현대적인 디자인으로 재해석하여 제작하고 있습니다.
한국적인 요소로는 재료뿐만 아니라 제작 과정과 우리나라 분청사기 표면 장식 기법 중 하나인 귀얄 기법을 바탕으로 거친
귀얄 붓(풀이나 옻을 칠할 때 쓰는 붓)을 이용하여 작품 위에 백토를 한번 더 발라 작품 표면의 자연스러움과 정형화 되지 않은
다양한 문양의 작품을 만듭니다.

"Individual white porcelains become a whole." The combination with each of the individual white porcelain containers looks like one piece.
It is inspired by the celadon prunus vase which is one of Korea's national treasure.
I put a new spin on the celadon vase and designed a division work on my piece.
It was made from white porcelain with wheel throwing and used two different glazes.
The outer face is glazed with 'clear glaze' and on the inside it is glazed with 'celadon glaze'.
This combined glaze is intend to show a coexistence with 'White porcelain' and 'Celadon' purposes.

삶에 있어서 가장 중요한 요소라 생각하는 것은 의,식,주이다.
매 순간 작업에 있어서 가장 큰 의미를 가지고 작업을 하는 요소들이기도 하다.
집이란 "주"의 공간에서 작가의 작품이 일상생활에 녹여짐으로써 공예라는 매개체가 사람들에게 가까이 다가가길 바라는 마음으로 매 순간 작업을 한다.
단순히 미적인 요소만을 중시하는 것이 아닌,쓰임을 우선으로 하여, 오랫동안 함께 하고 싶고,
도자기라는 것이 삶에 있어 가까이 존재하며 곁에 두고 싶은 행복적 요소로 남곳 싶은 것이 목표이자 바램이다.
전상근 작가는 식탐쟁이 그릇이라는 백자 식기 및 오브제와 밥볼이라는 무광식기 작업을 진행하고 있습니다.
모든 작업은 물레작업과 판성형을 바탕으로 섬세한 정형 작업을 통하여 작품을 완성하고 있습니다.
작가는 다양한 공모전 수상과 전시 이력이 있으며 백자 작업은 한국적인 것에 영감을 받아 현재 일상에서 잘 녹아들 수 있도록
재해석하여 작품을 제작하고 있으며 무광식기 작업은 일상에서 편하게 쓰일 수 있도록 가볍고 실용적인 디자인을

The most important elements of life are food, clothing, and shelter.
So are the most significant factors in every moment of the artist's work.
By making his works part of daily life in homes, or the space of "shelter," he engages in every moment of his work with the hope of bringing craft closer to people.
His goal and hope are not to simply focus on the aesthetic aspect of his ceramics,
but to also prioritize their uses so that people want to retain them for a long time and these become
an element of happiness that stays close to people and that people want to keep by their side in their lives.
Artist Jeon Sangkeun produces white porcelain dishware and objects called "Gluttonous Ceramics" and
matte dishes called "Rice Bowls." All works are made by jiggering and plate molding and completed through delicate shaping.
He has experience as a winner and participant of various contests and exhibitions.
He produces white porcelain that are inspired by what is Korean, which he reinterprets into something part of daily life,
and designs his matte dishware to be light and practical.
