작가소개

이재원은 도자공예작가로 활동하고 1인 스튜디오를 운영하고 있다.
‘숙련된 손’만이 제작할 수 있는 디자인을 구상하고, 제작과정과 노동의 ‘즐거움’을 추구하며 작업하고자 한다.
우리 고유의 색감과 형태를 담은 오늘의 그릇에 집중하면서 ‘평범함, 평범하지 않은’ 흑백시리즈 대표작업을 선보였고
국내에서 6회 개인전과 다수의 전시 및 기획프로젝트에 참여했다.



Lee Jaewon works as a ceramic artist and runs a one-man studio.
He devises designs that only "skilled hands" can produce and seeks to pursue
"enjoyment" in the production process and labor. He presented his representative works of "ordinary yet unordinary"
Black & White Series, which focuses on dishware of the current time that embody unique colors and forms of Korea,
held six solo exhibitions, and participated in many other exhibitions and special projects in Korea.



작품설명

흑백(黑白)시리즈의 흑(黑)은 백(白)과 대조되는 깊고 푸른 검정 흑유로 형태를 돋보이게 한다.
유약을 입히며 농담이 생기고 고온에서 흘러내리며 질감이 나타난다.
평범하되 평범하지 않은 검정은 간결하고 단단하게 형태를 감싸며 힘을 보여준다.
사각형태의 기(器,vessel)는 판성형으로 면과 선, 굽부분의 변형 등 무심한 듯 날렵하게 매듭 지은 흔적이 돋보이고,
둥근 형태의 기는 물레성형으로 단순한 선과 형태, 무게감을 담아냈다.



The black of the Black & White Series makes shapes stand out with its deep blue-black glaze that sharply contrasts with white.
The act of glazing creates light and shade, and the glaze that flows down at a high temperature gives texture to the works.
The ordinary yet unordinary black neatly and solidly covers the shapes, conveying power.
Traces of rough yet sleek knots from the modified faces, lines, and heels stand out in the rectangular vessels
made by plate molding, while simple lines, shapes, and a sense of weight are portrayed by the circular vessels made by jiggering.
