Kang, Jeongeun is an artist and designer who creates lifestyle items such as furniture, living goods, and objects that are useful in modern life.
She runs the experimental studio VONZ, which focuses on materials and cultural studies that address the origins of
traditional Korean culture and the habits of modern humans, as well as works positioned between art and design.
New and old traditional materials lead to interesting and unexpected combinations.
The artist works to bridge the gap between traditional crafts and modern lifestyles by reinterpreting and combining old techniques and materials with modern ones.
Her deep interest in colors, textures, and properties of materials is what enables her works to show authentic aesthetics.
She makes all of her works by hand, working closely with small workshops and professional engineers in Korea.
By incorporating the artistic value of Korean tradition into our daily products, she seeks to convey a message about the deep afterglow and richness of life.
